ISSEY MIYAKE MEN / IM MEN

Debuted in Paris fashion show in 1976 with women’s line and started in 1978 as a brand.
They have joined Paris Men’s fashion show since 1985A/W.
The brand name was changed to “ISSEY MIYAKE MEN” in 2012.
ISSY MIYAKE began to do experiment with new methods of pleating that would allow both flexibility of movement for the wearer as well as ease of care and production.
The garments are cut and sewn first, then sandwiched between layers of paper and fed into a heat press, where they are pleated.
The fabric's 'memory' holds the pleats and when the garments are liberated from their paper cocoon, they are ready-to wear.
Renewed to IM MEN in 2021S/S.
